I was reviewing my blog posts from years ago when I began developing Dogfight and I found these:

June 2nd, 2009:
I submitted our first iPhone game. A WWI airplane simulator that should be in the Apple Store. I've put a video of the beta in

Notice there was no such thing as multiplayer.

In June 2010 I got multiplayer working. Those 2 airplanes are me from a computer and an iPhone at the same time.

By December 2010 many things were adding but visually I began improving the terrain (yeah, that was a big improvement right? :)

Also in December 2010 I was playing already with the 3d for tanks, although the physics were slightly off. The famous flying tanks:

In March 2011 I finally managed to get the targeting system right. (The little arrows pointing to where the enemies are).

By May 4, 2011 most of Dogfight as we know it today was there:

In May 2011 also the parachuter began to work:

In June 5, 2011, tanks and explosions were added:
Today is a slow Sunday and since TV is not an option, I decided to do some nice explosions for the next version of the game.

June 7, 2011, the parachuter and tanks were ready for multiplayer:
I've just finished the last touches on the improved parachuter, tanks, explosions and the zeppelin. I'll release a beta for Android today and hopefully Apple will approve the final version 4.0 before the end of the week.

In June 25, 2011 this forum was created!
Since the game has been downloaded more than 200,000 times, I've decided it was time to give it its own site where Dogfighters could exchange their latest tricks: www.dogfightplay.com

In December 19, 2011 what I defined as the first official non-beta release of Dogfight was out:
It's been over a year of development and lot of iterations and additions... but today it's the official release of Dogfight!

It comes with a new promotional video:

And then we have today. I hope you enjoyed the walk through Dogfight's development history. We need to make a new video :)

Very cool to see the development and evolution of the game. Did you ever think it would take off like it has? Thanks Zup

Cool, i wish I had know about the game sooner to experience those previous versions. One thing I ask of Zuperman, Please don't ever change the theme song.

once again, awesome job Mr Zuperman! thank you for posting this. It's nice to know how things started out... since we get to see how the game improves already ;) . as for the windows 8 pc history? i could only add the 2 major bug fixes that I've experienced. hahaha :silly:

we were once the famous ghost/phantom windows users.. to the windows flying (more like falling from the sky :woohoo: ) tanks... then when those got fixed... the game started getting more and more players. windows platform is going to have it's anniversary with this game soon i think? nyahahaha XD

much love from the windows8.1 pc users <3

Awesome Zup. :cheer:
I've been at this game over a year now, and Its amazing to think back about all the little improvements over time. Such as the smoke in planes, and score bord ect.
It's funny, you don't like the changes cuz your used to it and think it good already.
Then you remember that the thing you where used to, was a new change to!
You give yourself a LOL, smile and say....

Great job Zup!
Keep it up! :cheer:

I've been.here over two years now. There have been up.and Downs. But I've seen alot of improvement over two years and this is one hell.of a game. Its definitely not easy and more than worth the money. And zup you've managed to get people from all over the world together. That couldn't be easy but you did it. Keep it up zup great job

The fact that you have not only brought people from all over the world, and people of all ages together. Is a wonderous thing. I truly wish to thank you sir, for your tireless work. Great game.

(Siulgue asi zuper).

Wow, nice timeline of the development. I didn't know the first version of the game had only a single player campaign.

O yea the veterans of dogfight are still the most kskilled in my book. I respect almost all the old time dogfighters. Im only 2 years old here but ive watched dogfight transform, both good and bad. Ive seen many players rise and fall, and watched some outstanding pilots do what they did best. Man I miss the old DF. It was a game back then. Now its all about money and competition.
