I've notice a trend in the "Faces of DogFight" thread. Thanks Luna for that, by the way. Many folks have posted their own mugs and those of their kids, but there's also quite few of those loving companions that live to please us. I'm talking about various pets. I have dogs almost my whole life, as well as cats and even a few "exotics". Dogs, above all others, have really touched my heart. There's very few examples of unconditional love as strong as that of a dog for "his people". I have had dogs that were essentially siblings and children to me. They have brought me hapiness throughout my life and broken my heart when I've lost them.

I figured I'd start this thread and give folks a chance to share stories and photos of their "best friend(s)" and maybe give us a way to get to know each other a little better.

Here's my baby girl. She's a rescue. Although you can't tell by looking at her she's a bit of a mut (half boxer/half lab). She looks like a full bred Chocolate Labrador Retriever. Her name is Puddin'. It doesn't matter what kind of day I've had, when I come home she puts a smile on my face. She's always essatic to see me and makes me feel loved.

This is Bugger the Border. Got him from the local animal shelter. It's amazing how many Border Collies are bought from breeders but then land in shelters when owners discover how much work they are. These dogs must work hard, several times a day, or they will eat your house. He herds the kids, with energy to spare. And sharp as a tack. Sometimes I let him play Dogfight. I swear, it was the dog!

This is boo now, 1yr later. He's a Monster, He's a 35 lb Pekingese and a once of fat on him.
But SATIN(the cat) will still kick his butt.

This reminded me of when my wife had two cats...one of them was as you say doc, "pure evil". She didn't like me and I didn't like her--right from the get-go. I would wake up with her rear end on my nose or worse, she would come and cat slap me in the middle of the night 2-3 times on a row. Needless to say, the cat found a better home amongst a very (foolish) friend. Haven't heard from the friend since...
